"The god that never was" MC by Dismember
Article description
Founded in 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden, Dismember played a significant role in the breakthrough of death metal. Their debut album, 'Like An Ever Flowing Stream,' released in 1991, clearly demonstrated that Dismember was an uncompromising band, leading to their rise to cult status and quickly taking the scene by storm. Extensive Tours with bands such as Death, Morbid Angel, and Cannibal Corpse showed that Dismember was a force to be reckoned with live, and their fanbase grew steadily. The band subsequently released the 5-track EP 'Pieces' and embarked on another Tour with Napalm Death and Obituary. They played in front of thousands of fans across Europe, solidifying their status as one of the best live bands in the world. Dismember took a new direction and released their sixth studio album in 2004, titled 'Where Ironcrosses Grow,' which sound closely resembled 'Hate Campaign' and drew strong inspiration from Iron Maiden and Autopsy. Their seventh album, 'The God That Never Was,' followed in 2006, continuing in the style of its predecessor.
