Krisiun are back again and off to a brilliant start with their eleventh studio album βScourge Of The Enthronedβ, delivering a crisp, 38-minute, death metal barrage of a 2018 album to succeed its somewhat long and complex predecessor βForged In Furyβ β death metal that only the three brothers from Brazil can deliver! Recorded with Andy Classen at Stage One Studio (Belphegor, Legion Of The Damned), the new release focuses on the essentials and sounds absolutely natural. Listeners hear every detail; this is music from a real band instead of flat, cookie-cutter soundtrack layers. βWe hate plastic death metal! Here youβll hear people β not computers!β says singer Alex Camargo contently. βAndyβs studio is in a village near Kassel, and thereβs no danger there of getting distracted. We just carved out songs like crazy people from morning till night.β Thatβs how an intense, merciless bastard creation from Krisiunβs early phase, born of the 2008 opus βSouthern Stormβ and other epic moments, came to be. Its track βDemonic IIIβ is practically the bandβs new anthem. Just like the mythical Anunnaki who appear in βWhirlwind Of Immortalityβ, the song channels the artwork of Eliran Kantor (Testament, Hate Eternal, Sodom). ββDemonic IIIβ has that certain βBlack-Force-Domainβ-like riff, and the track is really about us. The Anunnaki were often portrayed as seven figures, but since weβre so close to celebrating 30 years as a band in 2020, we thought it would be fitting to present ourselves as three ancient death metal deities!β To tide yourself over until 2020, you can definitely let the sick Moyses riffs, Maxβs insane drumming, and bassist/vocalist Alexβs monstrous Lemmy-esque pipes blow you away.
