Aeternus was founded in 1993 by Ares in Bergen, Norway, and is considered to be the pioneer of the Dark Metal genre. Combining elements of Black Metal and Death Metal with classical and folk music influences, the band creates their distinctive sound through superior guitar playing and unforgettable melodic interludes. The current lineup consists of guitarist/vocalist Ares, guitarist Gorm, bassist Eld, and drummer Phobos.
