by Lisa Hofer (10.01.2007) There's been a lot of changes in Masterplan, the cards were shuffled again and the line up heavily shaken. The gap that Jorn Lande left on the microphone was filled by Mike DiMeo (Riot, The Lizards), the drums are now taken over by drummer-legend Mike Terrana (ex-Rage, Axel Rudi Pell et al). With this amount of fresh air you could assume some stylistic change, but don't worry. Masterplan stick to their roots and do their own thing no matter what line-up. By their mix of heaviness and melody, songs like "Take me over", "Trust in you" and "Out of darkness" have all the trademarks of the band and directly set forth where the predecessor "Aeronautics" left off. "MK II" was produced by guitarist Roland Grapow and mastered by Mika Jussila in the Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, which definitely reflects in the sound of the album. Mike by two, what could go wrong with that?
