THE HISTORICAL 1990S SET FROM THE KNEBWORTH CONCERT RELEASED FOR THE FIRST TIME ON CD AND DOUBLE Vinyl!

FEATURING LIVE VERSIONS OF COMFORTABLY NUMB, THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY, AND WISH YOU WERE HERE

Warner Music has announced the release of 'Pink Floyd Live At Knebworth 1990,' which will be available on CD and double Vinyl for the first time starting April 30, 2021. The concert was part of the star-studded performance by the 1990 Silver Clef winners at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire, where Pink Floyd were the headliners.

At the memorable concert of Silver Clef Awards winners at Knebworth, Pink Floyd led an all-star lineup that included Paul McCartney, Dire Straits, Genesis, Phil Collins, Mark Knopfler, Robert Plant (with Jimmy Page), Cliff Richard, Eric Clapton, and Tears For Fears, among others. Around 120,000 music fans witnessed these rock giants coming together on the sacred stage of Knebworth to perform in support of the Nordoff Robbins Foundation. All proceeds from the concert, which was broadcasted live on MTV, went towards the establishment of the BRIT School.

David Munns, Chairman of Nordoff Robbins, still remembers the event well: 'The Knebworth concert was a crucial moment in terms of the music industry's commitment to Nordoff Robbins, the BRIT Trust, and the concept of the BRIT School. It was a fantastic day that culminated in this brilliant performance by Pink Floyd. The funds raised laid the foundation for the BRIT School and allowed Nordoff Robbins to significantly expand its offerings. Knebworth will go down as a great moment in history, and the music industry should be very proud of what was achieved.'

Nick Mason also fondly recalls the concert: 'Knebworth has a special magic to it. We all still have fond memories of our performances there in the 70s, and it was no different with this show. Being a boy from North London, it was almost like a home game for me, and on top of that, the joy of reuniting with the rest of the band after having played a pretty massive Tour that lasted well over a year. Besides that, it was an opportunity to showcase the great Candy Dulfer – I had been a fan of hers for quite a while, and it was a shame that there weren't more chances to involve her more. And last but not least, we were able to welcome our dear friend Michael Kamen as a guest, who had contributed so much to Pink Floyd in the previous ten years, so it's great that he is also heard on the recording.'

Pink Floyd – David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright – were accompanied by members of their Touring band for their set, namely Guy Pratt, Jon Carin, Tim Renwick, and Gary Wallis. The background vocals were provided by Durga McBroom, Sam Brown and her mother Vicki, as well as Clare Torry (the original singer of 'The Great Gig In The Sky'). Saxophonist Candy Dulfer and keyboardist and composer Michael Kamen joined Pink Floyd as guest musicians on stage. David Gilmour and Andy Jackson have remixed all seven tracks of this legendary concert, and the album features new artwork photographed by the longtime Floyd creative partner Aubrey 'Po' Powell and designed by Peter Curzon of Storm Studios. After being released for the first time ever with 'The Later Years' box set in 2019, the concert is now available as a standalone album on CD or double Vinyl.
