"In the twilight grey" LP by Necrophobic
Article description
With over 30 years of active, disgraceful work under their spikes and bullet belts, NECROPHOBIC are undisputed legends of the death and black metal scene. Founded in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner, the Stockholm Blackhearts have always represented a unique and fearless vision. NECROPHOBIC created a bold identity of their own and conjured up a densely melodic yet infinitely wicked version of macabre extreme metal, which has since been imitated by countless bands.
Despite numerous lineup changes and moments of turmoil, the dark light of NECROPHOBIC has never faded. When the band's most effective lineup reunited for the 2018 Album 'Mark Of The Necrog,' it was evident to fans and critics alike that the Swedish quintet had returned to the blazing form that once solidified their reputation. With guitarists Sebastian Ramstedt and Johan Bergeback back on board after a 5-year break, it was a career highpoint for all involved. Not only was it the best-sounding Album of the band's career, but also one of the most monstrous, dramatic, and destructive of the decade, making the prospect of future NECROPHOBIC Albums even more enticing. With their 10th studio Album, 'In the Twilight Grey,' the Swedish blackened death metal masters delve even deeper into pitch-black shadows. Once again, the Album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Fredrik Folkare (of death metal icons Unleashed) at Chrome Studios in Stockholm, and recorded in close collaboration between Folkare and the band themselves. 'In the Twilight Grey' not only features classic NECROPHOBIC treasures like 'Stormcrow' or the title track, but also solemn journeys into darkness like the captivating 'Nordanvind.'
