by Markus Wosgien (13.07.2006) The sudden death of Quorthon did not only leave huge masses of fans but also a wide gap in the metal scene. Quorthon was an exceptional personality who always went his own, self-willed but successful way. In remembrance of his third day of death, a box set is now released by the man that we know under the name of Boss, his father. It contains three cd.s with a total of 45 songs representing many of the personal favourites of Quorthon. Many songs of his solo records or cover versions that had only been released on samplers. Bathory's classics are numerous and this box set underpins the unbelievable bequest the musician left. Centre of the album is a 136 page booklet, a book that Quorthon has worked on till his death. It's a strange thing to read but it's an adequate memory for this great artist. The set is rounded off by a dvd featuring the only video clip for the hymn, "The one rode to asa bayβ€œ as well as an MTV interview and recordings of Quorthon in an autographing session and other promotional work.
