14.Sympathy For The Devil
As wildly as they exploded with their studio debut, "Appetite For Destruction", 1987 in the scene, as fast it was all over after the two "Use Your Illusion"-records (1991) and especially the '93 covers-collection, "Spaghetti Incident?". Meanwhile, the coma patient, Guns N' Roses, is being kept alive with some scattered releases (like e.g. "Live Era '87 - '93). Also the new album bring the band back on the table without presenting any new material. Okay, the album is packed with 14 songs including only the greatest hits of Axl & Co, even the Stones-cover, "Sympathy For The Devil", taken from the soundtrack for "Interview With A Vampire" for the first time on a Guns-album. But if their label really wanted to pay tribute to this exceptional band this would have been at least a double album with a fat booklet. (Mike Borrink - April 2004)
