In Norse mythology, Draupnir (Old Norse "the dripper") is a gold ring possessed by the god Odin. It was created by the dwarf Sindri together with MjΓΆlnir, the hammer of Thor, and Gullinbursti for Freyr. Every ninth night eight equal rings 'drip' from Draupnir. Odin threw the ring on the pyre of his son Balder. As Hermod set out on the journey to the underworld Hel, Odin got his ring back. Draupnir is a symbol of wealth and abundance, but also for return and fertility.
