28.Punk ist keine Religion
by Matthias Mader (07/03) The senior member of German punk staff further elaborates it's comeback. ì The 2002-album, "Inri21" is not supposed to remain a nine days' wonder. ì That's what Normahl prove with their packed, 28-songs-best of-compilation ì simply called "Das ist Punk" (that's punk). In contrast to some other cash-ì in release, Normahl decided on a different kind of collection: The whole ì material was re-recorded in their current line-up in the studio, so these ì are some kind of "reloaded versions". Comsequently, the album flows very ì nicely, there are no big differences in sound and quality - and enough hits ì were gathered by the Southern Germans, anyway. What works good is the ì mixture of critical political punk, like in "Fahneneid", and easy to ì swallow drinking songs of the likes of "Fraggles" or "Biervampir", as well ì as the 2002-song, "Komm' erzähl' mir über Punk", a nice addition to the ì back catalogue. This is punk, this is rock and no prissy pop idol crap. ì (Matthias Mader - 03/07)
