Completely unexpectedly for the fans, Metallica sweetened the waiting time until the next Album with the 'Beyond Magnetic' EP. The four songs created during the β€žDeath magneticβ€œ sessions have been released on diverse download platforms already and weren't meant for a CD originally. But the fans had their say, and so the tracks made it on a CD after all. You'll get four unmastered (!!!) songs on a CD. But what to expect? Sub-standard stuff? No, sir! Some of the β€žDeath magneticβ€œ material sounded more like old gems anyway (much more than on β€žSt. Angerβ€œ, for example), and the "Beyond..." songs are even a tad more old-school which is certainly also due to the sound. Check out β€žHate trainβ€œ and β€žJust a bullet awayβ€œ - they will whet your appetite for more. But you'll enjoy β€žHell and backβ€œ and β€žRebel of Babylonβ€œ, too, although you'll detect some fresher influences there. In a nutshell: a great gift and a #1 choice for all you Metallica maniacs out there!
