by Andreas Reissnauer (01/99) Black metalists Immortal made a lot of progress in the past couple of months. With their last release they certainly lost a lot of hard-to-earn sympathy among the fans. But I accept it, that was in the past! The fifth album "At the heart of winter" definitely is the best album Abbath and Demonaz ever recorded! Epic, almost classic compositions full of great melodies and moreover a superb production. 6 songs with 46 minutes of running time. My opinion: One of the best black metal albums of present times, full of enthusiasm and demand. In brief: a masterpiece! (Andreas Reissnauer)
