by Matthias Mineur (06/03) Holy Smokes, the blonde Angela Gossow can be quite proud of her friend Γ¬ Michael Amott - leader and main composer of Swedish Metall fraction Arch Γ¬ Enemy - he seems to be at his creative peak. Arch enemy release their new Γ¬ album "Anthems of rebellion" and songs like "Silent wars", "We will rise", "Dead eyes see no future" or the instrumental "Marching on a dead end road" rip through your auditory canal with full force. Arch Enemy manage to Γ¬ connect melodic and memorable Power Metal with their brute grunting vocals Γ¬ of singeress Gossow. This way a pleasant amount of roughness is created Γ¬ which never seems overrated but at the same time stays away from shallow pop Γ¬ waters. In addition to that Amott knows how to play his guitar and combines Γ¬ thrilling riffs with fine licks and solos. "Anthems of rebellion" was Γ¬ produced by Andy Sneap who once again proves to have a good instinct for Γ¬ this type of music. Good shit!
